This is one of a series of 5 paintings I did for an orphanage that takes in abused and neglected children. The paintings were used to hang in each of the 5 homes at the facility. I wanted to make the paintings fun for the children so they are bright and have hidden images in them. All 5 paintings have a cross, the Name Jesus in common. This one also has: a dove, a lamb, a heart and "John :16" hidden in the painting.
I have been painting and drawing from my earliest memories. I can't remember a time when I didn't want to be an artist. I graduated from the Universtiy of North Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design and was awarded the "Most Outstanding Artist" title upon graduation. Although I work in many different mediums my favorite is pastels. I love the vibrant color that can be achieved. When I was a child I was so in love with color and would get so excited over a new box of crayons, colored pencils, markers, or watercolors. I get equally excited today when I see all of my beautiful pastels laid out and waiting for the next creation. I believe the results that can be achieved with pastels produce some of the most beautiful art ever...
